Slate fingerprints
Each published slate is fingerprinted in the same database step that publishes it. The fingerprint is a SHA-256 hash of the day's positions and the publication time. If a slate or its time were changed afterward, its fingerprint would no longer match any copy saved before the change. The fingerprint reveals nothing about what the slate contains.
We keep the fingerprints, and the clock that times them, in our own database. No outside service holds or timestamps them. What makes them checkable is a copy someone else keeps: a saved copy of this page, or the pick email a license holder received.
From the first 2026-27 slate, each position will be published before its game's scheduled tip. The methodology page states the rule.
How to check them
Anyone. Each fingerprint is the SHA-256 hash of the five-line record shown with it. Each record names the fingerprint before it, so changing any earlier slate would change every fingerprint after it. Keep a copy of this page and you can confirm later that no record on it has changed since you saved it. A copy saved before a game tips also shows that day's fingerprint existed before the tip.
License holders. The Picks page gives the exact text of your part of each day's slate as a file. Hash that file on your own computer and compare the result with the digest in that day's record: singles for Standard, singles and the card for Elite. Then check the positions in the file against the pick email you received that morning. Your email provider recorded when that email arrived, on a clock we do not control.
Why the public cannot read a slate from it. Each part is hashed together with a random value that only its license holders receive, so a digest cannot be matched against guesses.
To recompute a hash, save the text exactly as shown, every line ending in a line feed (the last one included), then run shasum -a 256 file.txt on macOS or Linux, or certutil -hashfile file.txt SHA256 on Windows.
The fingerprints
No slate has been published yet. The first fingerprint is recorded with the first slate of the 2026-27 season, which tips on November 2, 2026.
